The Century of Wall Street
“Antony Sutton comes to conclusions that are uncomfortable for many businessmen and economists. For this reason his work tends to be either dismissed out of hand as 'extreme' or, more often, simply ignored."
~ Richard Pipe, Survival Is Not Enough: Soviet Realities and America's Future
“For impressive evidence of Western participation in the early phase of Soviet economic growth, see Antony C. Sutton’s Western Technology and Soviet Economic Development, 1917-1930”
~ Zbigniew Brzezinski, Between Two Ages
A very carefully curated image of the history of the twentieth century has been produced by the financial interests that represent Wall Street, one in which the US is always cast as the good guy whose soldiers “die to make men free.” This self congratulatory narrative is of course false and many today see through it. But what we have are narratives that international Communism (1917-1991) and the rise of Nazi Germany (1933-1939) were serious threats to Western Capitalist democracies and were locked in a brutal conflict for total supremacy. This narrative is still believed by many. Couple this with the cultural shockwaves of the 1960s and domestic policies in the US, which are cast as an “organic” and “spontaneous” effulgence of the people and you have a pretty standard narrative of the twentieth century. It may shock the reader to hear that this is nearly all totally a lie. Not that the facts and events and dates and battles are false; those did happen, what is a lie is what is left out. The lie is of omission. Wall Street was behind both the rise of Communism, Hitler and the Cultural Revolution in the West in the 1960's. The works of Antony Sutton, Kerry Bolton, Michael Walker, G. Edward Griffin, Carroll Quigley and E. Michael Jones to name a few, paint a picture of a subversive cabal of Corporate and Deep State interests that shaped the world we live in. This essay will briefly sketch out facts of the twentieth century from this new perspective. Of necessity, this will be only a very broad outline the arc of twentieth century history, but I hope will be a starting point for future research and discussion.
1913 will resound down the ages as a year as eventful as Caesar crossing the Rubicon or Columbus sailing across the Atlantic to find the new world. This marks the beginning of the US Federal Reserve Bank. This institution is a creature of and an expression of the will of the great financial magnates of the US: Rockefeller, Carnegie, Ford, Du Pont etc. This was the resurgence of the demon of the National Bank destroyed by the Jacksonian democrats in the 1837. Their goal as described in interviews with Norman Dodd, head investigator of Reece Committee, by G. Edward Griffon and Stan Monteith, that the goal of this financial cabal was to radically change the United States socially through war. They realized that during war, the government could declare states of emergency and radically alter social life as a result. The entire twentieth century needs to be seen in this light. It engineered and contrived “emergencies” of both a domestic and international variety in order to shape America in their vision. For a more detailed account of the formation of the Federal Reserve Bank, see G. Edward Griffins “The Creature From Jeykll Island.”
US entry into World War I was a direct result of the actions of these financiers, weaving webs behind the scenes. The US abandoned a principled neutrality to one of defacto co-belligerent with the Allies by supplying arms to the British and French forces. This sordid trade of carnage by the Merchants of Death are described in Smedley Butler's “War is a Racket” and H.C. Engelbrecht's “The Merchants of Death.” Besides making a killing, both in the figurative and literal sense of that term, the financial elites hoped to embroil the US in an international alliance known as the League of Nations. Non-interventionist tendencies were strong in the US and Wilson's dream was not fulfilled.
The real bombshell here is the role that Wall Street had in the 1917 October Revolution and the rise of the USSR. Both Antony Sutton and Kerry Bolton discuss in detail Wall Street aid to the Bolsheviks, refer to Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution and Revolution From Above respectively. We learn that the Morgan Chase affiliate William B. Thompson gave one million dollars to the Bolshevik cause. The New York Times reported when the commander of the AEF William Graves withdrew his forces from Vladivostok his Soviet counterpart thanked him for keeping the Trans-Siberian railroad out of the hands of the reactionaries and Japanese. William Graves himself was unsure of the intent of his mission in Siberia, he assiduously avoided fighting with the Bolsheviks. At the behest of Thompson, Raymond Robins led a Red Cross Mission to Russia, as a front, to transfer resources to the Bolshevik cause. After the revolution, Sutton demonstrates in his Western Technology And Soviet Economic Development 1917 to 1930, that between 1917-1930 vast amounts of western capital, primarily US was sent to the USSR to build it up out of the ashes. Sutton speculates this was to create a captive market in the form of a state monopoly for the Wall Street financiers to exploit. They failed to take into account the perfidious nature of the Soviets and Stalin would humiliate them by expropriating by force their assets.
In his “Wall Street and the Rise of Hitler,” Sutton demonstrates that the rise of Nazi Germany itself was supported by a great amount of financial aid by Wall Street. This aid was in essential resources such as oil. This was a talking point I heard a lot from the anti-Globalist left, something you don't see much of anymore. Wall Street is woke after all and that means their on the right side of history. Some might ask, why did Wall Street support Hitler when he attacked the USSR their captive market? For at least four reasons: (1) fund enemies to engineer new crises; (2) punish the USSR for expropriating their assets (in all likelihood the damages done to the USSR by the German invasion were qualitatively more costly than their loses in capital assets suffered by Wall Street); (3) create a bogey man for the left to deflect from their own efforts; (4) a test bed for scientific dictatorship to their US control.
Throughout the Cold War itself, the US fought with one hand tied behind it's back in its fight against international communism (see America's Two Ways of Waging War, by Francis Parker Yockey). In short, the US fought the Axis to win, the US fights communism to not lose. Sutton in his “The Best Enemies Money Can Buy” details how US industries, including arms industries were selling commodities to the USSR. The two most egregious examples are the Great Grain Robbery of 1973 and the sales of ball bearings (essential for Ballistic Missile Guidance Systems) by Bryant Chucking Grinder Company to the USSR all during the Vietnam War, where the USSR was sending supplies to the North Vietnamese via shipments to Haiphong Harbor. One is reminded of George Orwell's 1984 where Oceania; Eurasia and East Asia fight a series of conflicts with no intention of knocking the other power out, but only of creating a state of emergency to control their own people under emergency measures.
On the Homefront we see in the 1960s the Cultural Revolution sweep the western world, culminating in the year of 1968. This of course was itself a psyop. Psychological Warfare was pioneered in WW1. This was so successful at convincing the American people of the need to fight Germany that after the war, Edward Bernays the nephew of Sigmund Freud took these tools to Madison Avenue to help them sell products we don't need. Wall Street had a problem, and that problem was over production. Over production is when markets are saturated as a result of efficient modes of production. Do you turn the factories off when the market is saturated? Well that cuts into profits. Paul Mazur in his “American Prosperity” argued that this problem could be solved by generating in people the desire for new fashions, fads, bells and whistles by playing on their fear of inadequacy by manipulating their sex drive and death drive. Bernays gave them the tools they needed to convince people to buy what they don't need in order solve the problem of over production. This can be seen as an extension of the cash nexus, only those things that have a value quantifiable in cash have a value at all. This drive leads to the need to commodify sex and social identities; thereby combining the profit motive with the desire for control of both the National Security State and Wall Street. We see that the really radical social ideas were produced by the Congress for Cultural Freedom, a CIA front founded in 1950 to combat communism. We see that scientific force behind the Sexual Revolution was Alfred Kinsey in “Sexual Behavior in the Human Male” where he gives all the world proof that he was a depraved pedophile who molested boys, see Table 34 of the book. He was funded by the Rockefeller foundation to weaponize sex as a means for social control, see E. Michael Jones “Libido Dominandi.” With a scientific veneer, the old laws on sexual behavior that had been inherited from Christianity were demolished. The drug culture was the result of the CIA research in MK-Ultra, where they sought methods of mind control. Timothy Leary discovered LSD from the CIA asset Sidney Gottleib and through his work popularized the drug culture with his mantra: Turn on, tune in, drop out. The Rock scene had deep state connections with Jim Morrison of the Doors, his father was George Stephen Morrison the US naval commander in the events of the Tonkin Gulf. Stewart Copeland, drummer of the police, was the son of Miles Copeland Jr., a CIA intelligence officer. These cultural explosions of riot and dissipation can be seen as a sort of rumspringa for blue blooded bratty rich kids. Why was the culture war waged? The main reason, as I see it is, to create a frozen conflict at home. From 1933-1969 the economically progressive New Deal Democrats put a series of restraints on corporate power to prevent an uprising from the working class; which looked increasingly likely with the coal wars of Colorado and West Virginia. A country that was homogenous could, with relative ease, organize resistance to the banking elites. Like the story of the Tower of Babel, men who cannot talk to, let alone understand each other cannot work together for a common end. In the 1950s the differences between a conservative or a liberal, a democrat or a republican were quite small. Destroying this homogeneity was prerequisite for them breaking the back of their opposition to resist them.
The goal was to produce state of frozen conflict in the US domestically. A frozen conflict is a conflict in which no formal peace treaty has been signed, but no active violence is occurring, though violence could theoretically break out at anytime. All of these different political movements with team right and team left are a series of frozen conflicts. Since direct violence can effectively be prevented by the use of or threat of state power, these groups just yell at each other. Rather than directing their efforts at the Banks or Security State, which almost happened in 2011, when the Tea Party (Ron Paul) and the Occupy Movement were pointing to the banks and Wall Street. In order to effect this control, counter gangs were created first in the 60's and then in the 2010's. A counter gang is a political group that ostensibly works towards to the goal of some aligned group, but in fact is being propped up by the aforementioned groups enemies. An example of a counter gang are the Bolsheviks in Russia. The real socialist revolution in February of 1917 with Kerensky as the Russian head of state was seen as too threatening to the social order so a false socialism was created to destroy it. Bolshevism did destroy the democratic-socialism of Kerensky's Russia in the name of Socialism, but what in fact happened was the formation of a Hydraulic Empire based on the principles of Eurasian states from time out of mind. In a domestic sense leftist organizations that favor immigration are counter gangs. To quote Bernie Sanders, of 2016, open borders are “a Koch brothers conspiracy.” Not to pick alone on the left, the Better Business Bureau and Chamber of Commerce conservatives are counter gangs, as Marx and Ted Kaczynski point out the extension of the cash nexus and technological advancement respectively erode and destroy traditional institutions of church and family. Modern Conservatives are in the unenviable position of trying to acquiesce to the march of money and technique and still maintain their values, an impossibility. The decisive turn was buying out leftist media outlets and forcing them to shift from class war to race war. Class and economic terms were replaced with identity terms based on race and sex, neither of which threatens corporate power and both of which can be easily commodified.
The hegemony of Finance and the National Security State is complete, or would at least appear to be so. All domestic resistance is essentially destroyed either because such movements have been outright eliminated or rendered impotent through infiltration or counter-gangs. China has arisen as a great power in much the same way Bolshevik Russia did. In this case it was out in the open. The US foolishly gave all of its industrial might to China. Before, Wall Street just built up the USSR, it didn't give factories away. In the mad 'race to the bottom' for cheap labor they did the unthinkable turning China into the world's workshop.
To conclude, this is but a brief sketch of the facts of the century of Wall Street and the impact it has had up until know. The banking power in the US rose again like a Phoenix from the ashes in 1913. They sought to engineer domestic and global crises to radically change America. Through the merchants of death they create enemies for the US military to fight and then rinse and repeat. Used the Bolsheviks as a counter-gang to destroy democratic Socialism in Russia. Stalin expropriating their assets was a major set back. The Bankers supported the rise of Hitler to accomplish four goals: produce an new enemy to fight in a new world war; punish Stalin for robbing them of their capital stock; create a bogey man to distract the left from themselves and to be a test to their control of a scientific dictatorship. After the war, they used Orwell's playbook of 1984 to keep the Soviet Union propped up just enough to be a threat to maintain a state of global emergency. Then the deep state and Wall Street, in the 40's and 50's, created the culture of drugs, sex and Rock n Roll to divide the nation and commodify identity. This was a spoiling move to prevent any unified action against them. This took place in two stages, in the 60's, the first wave to destroy the Christian social order in favor of liberalism and then in the 2010's, to destroy liberalism in favor of their dream of technological dictatorship. The domestic right and left are impotent forces locked in a frozen conflict with each other led by infiltrators or counter-gangs to add fuel to the fire. This technological dictatorship will face threats, from access to resources and the rising Eurasian alliance, it has total victory at home. Only if the American people are provoked, through arrogant and reckless actions, to hate the regime more than they hate each other could, like the Carthaginian mercenaries, rise up and threaten elite power.
